The Rams took a kicker out of Miami (OH) in the seventh round to replace Greg Zuerlein. That didn’t work out and the Rams have now admitted their mistake. The team officially announced they are cutting Sloman. Veteran kicker Kai Forbath who was recently signed right off of the Chicago Bears practice squad is expected to take over the starting kicking duties. The Rams will most likely leave their roster at 52 to have room for defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson who is expected to be activated off the Non-Football Injury List.

In 7 games, Sloman was 8/11 on field goals and missed three PAT’s. He beat out CFL star kicker Lirim Hajrullahu and XFL standout kicker Austin MacGinnis in training camp. As for Forbath, the 33-year-old kicker has kicked in 81 games to this point and has made 131 field goals out of 151 attempts and 183 XP’s out of 195 XPA’s.
