I May Live In Louisiana But I’ll Always Have The Braves In My DNA Shirt . The Milwaukee Bucks open their playoff series against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday and will likely be without star Giannis Antetokounmpo. Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Bucks are preparing to open the series without Antetokounmpo but the team is hopeful he’ll suit up at some point in the first round. Antetokounmpo was injured in a 104-91 win against the Boston Celtics on April 9. He was heading up the court after a 3-point basket by Boston’s Derrick White late in the third quarter when the two-time Kia MVP grabbed his left calf and took a seat on the floor before being helped off the court.A day later, the Bucks ruled Antetokounmpo out for the team’s final three games of the regular season (Milwaukee went 1-2 in that span).“He’s doing well,” Rivers said Tuesday. “He’s walking around, looks good. I can say (he’s) farther than we thought he would be, but just not ready yet.”Rivers wouldn’t speculate on the chances of Antetokounmpo playing Sunday.“I’m not going to make a decision – first of all, I don’t make the decision – but our medical team is saying they don’t know, so I’m going to wait and see,” Rivers said. “I literally don’t know one way or the other.”

I May Live In Louisiana But I’ll Always Have The Braves In My DNA Shirt . The Bucks went 1-4 against the Pacers this season, but it wasn’t for a lack of production from Antetokounmpo. He averaged 42.2 points, 13 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 67.6% in those five games vs. Indiana.Overall this season, Antetokounmpo is averaging 30.4 ppg, 11.5 rpg, 6.5 apg, 1.2 spg and 1.1 bpg while shooting 61.1% overall and 27.4% on 3-pointers.Antetokounmpo’s absence likely means more of the lineup Milwaukee used in his absence where veteran Bobby Portis — normally one of the team’s top reserves — slotted into a starting role. Portis has been solid this season as a starter (19.5 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 1.8 apg, 2.5 spg on 61.1% shooting) for the Bucks should he be pressed into that role for the opening games of the series.Aside from Portis, Milwaukee can also turn to veterans such as Jae Crowder and Danilo Gallinari to help make up for some of the production lost by Antetokounmpo’s absence. However, much of the burden will fall on All-Star guard Damian Lillard to pick up the slack while the Bucks’ star big man mends.
