Come across many t-shirt brands that claim to be about Houston Astros 713 shirt . A cause that is greater than just selling t-shirts, only to find out that said cause was nothing more than a clever marketing ploy. Since the day I first came in contact with , I’ve noticed that everything about them is…well…different. They’re a brand run exclusively by marginalized youth from Portland, Oregon. Their mission is to get these young people get off of the streets and into a life more worthy of themselves as unique, beautiful individuals. They celebrate their differences and use them as inspiration for their t-shirt designs. In doing so, they’ve created a line-up of t-shirts and other gear that are unlike anything else you’ll find.

I had the chance to find out a bit more about dfrntpigeon in a recent interview Houston Astros 713 shirt . Here is what they had to say about themselves and what they represent… We are a collective of young creatives with varying abilities in illustration, graphic design, and copywriting. We design each collection as a group, united by an overarching theme (“Identity”, “Community”, “Transition”). We involve an intimate team of volunteer mentors from our local professional design community at different stages in our process, who support us in evolving our graphics and creating a cohesive collection for our customer. We love our support team of professional mentors who volunteer their time to help our brand exist. We are motivated by the desire to create positive change in our communities and the lives of those around us. We want to inspire people to create, grow, and see their value regardless of the challenges they have faced. According to Napoleon Love, Afro Space was started for the people and by the people in the Midwest, USA. His goal was to create a Black ‘Ed Hardy’ feel in their designs to engage the urban, music, and skateboard.

This shirt is so cute. The material is pretty thick (not see thru). I wore it with a black leather jacket and black skinnies. It’s super versatile to dress up or down too. I ordered a medium to be on the safe side, but I could have gone down to a small. The medium works, and isn’t baggy, but a little looser than I would like. Go get yourself one!

I had been searching for a good staple black cropped hoodie for a while, however most cropped hoodies cost upwards of $40, which I thought was outrageous to spend on a trendy piece of clothing that might not be fashionable next year (as it happens with most fast fashion items). I decided instead to buy this affordable hoodie and crop it myself. It came out great! I cropped it right above the pocket line, and I just left the hem raw (I didn’t sew it). For reference, I am 5’3 and 157lbs. I purchased a size large because I wanted the oversized look. I really like how it came out!
Now, don’t expect the finest quality fabric at $14 (although for what it is, the hoodie is very nice). It has a plain cottony exterior (a bit scratchy in my opinion), but the inside is a very soft fleece. Nevertheless, the black fabric doesn’t look cheap or anything.
I’m thinking of maybe tie-dyeing it with bleach, will update if I do!
