Disney Movies Coming to Theaters Fall 2025

This fall, moviegoers can look forward to a dynamic lineup of theatrical releases from The Walt Disney Company. From heart-pounding action to emotional storytelling, feel-good moments, and nostalgic favorites, the slate includes standout titles from 20th Century Studios, Disney Live Action, and Searchlight Pictures.

2025 has already been a strong year at the box office for Disney, and the studio is on the verge of surpassing $4 billion worldwide. Among the seven titles released so far, Lilo & Stitch made history as the first film of the year to cross the billion-dollar mark at the global box office.

And as summer turns to fall, here’s some of the most anticipated films to come.

Avatar: The Way of Water (IMAX/3D Re-release)
October 3

Disney opens its fall season with the re-release of the Oscar®-winning global box office phenomenon Avatar: The Way of Water, from 20th Century Studios.

Avatar: The Way of Water grossed $2.3 billion during its first run in theaters and remains the third highest-grossing film of all time, right behind two other Disney titles: Avatar and Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame.

After journeying back to the breathtaking waters of Pandora, fans will be more than ready for Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third installment in James Cameron’s historic blockbuster franchise, coming to theaters December 19.

TRON: Ares
October 10

Pulse-pounding action sequences, specially shot for IMAX. An original score by Grammy® winner Nine Inch Nails. A cast that’s as electrifying as the story itself.

The Tron universe gets taken to the next level in Disney’s TRON: Ares.

The feature film follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.

Listen to the first single off the soundtrack: “As Alive As You Need Me To Be,” along with the entire Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, which marks the first official music from the band — which consists of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross — in five years.

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere
October 24

Last year, Timothée Chalamet gave audiences an intimate look at the musical genius of Bob Dylan in Searchlight Pictures’ A Complete Unknown; this year, Jeremy Allen White reveals the dedication of a young Bruce Springsteen on the brink of global stardom in 20th Century Studios’ Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere.

The film chronicles the making of Springsteen’s 1982 “Nebraska” album. Recorded on a 4-track recorder in the artist’s New Jersey bedroom, the album marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works — a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.

Predator: Badlands
November 7

Dan Trachtenberg, director of Prey, welcomes fans to a world of hurt in another thrilling entry in 20th Century Studios’ Predator franchise — which has pitted humans against extraterrestrial warriors since 1987’s Predator.

The story takes a unique turn in Predator: Badlands: Set in the future on a remote planet, a young Predator (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi), outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Elle Fanning) and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary.

Rental Family
November 21

Discover the joy of unexpected connections with Searchlight Pictures’ Rental Family from HIKARI, starring Academy Award® winner Brendan Fraser.

Set in modern-day Tokyo, Rental Family follows an American actor (Fraser) who struggles to find purpose until he lands an unusual gig: working for a Japanese “rental family” agency, playing stand-in roles for strangers. As he immerses himself in his clients’ worlds, he begins to form genuine bonds that blur the lines between performance and reality. Confronting the moral complexities of his work, he rediscovers purpose, belonging, and the quiet beauty of human connection.

And that’s not all Disney is bringing to fans in theaters throughout the rest of 2025.

Just in time for the holidays, Hopps and Wilde are back for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Zootopia 2 on November 26; 20th Century Studios brings the heat with Ella McCay on December 12 and Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 19 — sharing the date with Searchlight Pictures’ Is This Thing On?, which closes out Disney’s 2025 theatrical slate.
