Lil Wayne 2018 team-up with Gucci Mane, “In This House,” is gaining renewed attention thanks to its inclusion on the new deluxe edition of Tha Carter V. On the track, they draw from a classic Baltimore house music sample that’s bound to sound familiar to anyone who’s paid attention to the Hot 100 chart recently.

“In This House” flips DJ Frank Ski’s 1993 track, “Whores In This House,” the same song that’s prominently sampled on Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s No. 1 hit, “WAP.”

In addition to a repeated vocal sample of the word “whores” underscoring much of the beat, a longer snippet of the “Whores In This House” vocals can be heard on the post-chorus of “In This House”:

This is the same vocal snippet that’s been popularized in the past few months thanks to Cardi and Megan’s “WAP.” In addition to sampling the song, they played on the theme of “Whores In This House” for the “WAP” music video.

Frank Ski is a radio personality on Baltimore’s V-103, who helped popularize the distinct sound of the city’s club scene. Although both tracks draw from Frank’s song, it’s not exactly a copycat situation. “Whores In This House” is a common hip-hop sample, with artists like Joe Budden and OutKast previously flipping the track.
