Blake Shelton Opens Up About Being Stepdad to Gwen Stefanis Sons Cant Imagine My Life Without Them
It seems like Blake Shelton takes his upcoming job as a stepparent to Gwen Stefani‘s children very seriously.
The country singer,44, asked Gwen to be his wife last year, which comes with the responsibility of helping raise her three children Kingston, 14, Zuma, 12, and Apollo, 6.
During his recent Interview with KFROG’s The Ride with Kimo & Heather, Blake opened up about his role as a stepfather to his fiancé’s three sons, says there’s “definitely nothing easy” about being a stepfather.
“I don’t know if it’s as hard. Or harder than being a biological parent. I have a stepfather in my life. Who is one of my heroes,” the “country god” hitmaker revealed. “I love my stepfather. And he’s like a father to me. So I have a good inspiration in my life on how to do this and the kind of stepdad I want to be. And I take it very serious.”

“But I also have a blast with it. I’m not gonna lie,” Shelton adds. “I don’t take it so serious. That I’m not enjoying this time. Because I really am, especially now. We’re five years into this thing.”
He continued, “I can’t imagine my life without these kids now.”
As it turns out, Blake has previously asked Stefani’s boys for approval before proposing to their mom.
A source close to Stefani said, “Blake told her boys that he wanted to propose. And asked their permission. Her family very much approves of him. He’s an amazing partner. And a great extra dad to the boys. Gwen is ecstatic. The proposal was a surprise.”
Gwen shares her three sons with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. The former couple split in 2015. Later that year, she started dating Blake. And in October 2020, he proposed.
